Recently, I came across this interview with high school English teacher-turned angel investor Catherine Mott, chief executive and founder of BlueTree Allied Angels. In addition to putting a face on an angel investor — a creature many entrepreneurs have never encountered — the article explains what motivates them and sets them apart from venture capitalists. BlueTree, a network of 48 investors with a portfolio of 24 mostly medical technology ventures, has invested $15 million since it was founded in 2003.
