Sometimes it’s nice to get a promotional item that isn’t a calendar, pen or a keychain. Of course, those are all good items and can, indeed, provide a ton of ongoing advertising, but sometimes it pays to use something a little different. Whenever a business caters mostly to men, it is fun to find other useful items that you can use to promote your business, some type of promotional sports and outdoors items. Many of them can become conversation pieces, and now you’ve just provided advertising to a ton of other people as well! Whatever you use will always remind that customer or client of your business, but when you give a unique promotional item that will be shared with friends, you’ve just wisely invested your advertising dollars.

Actually anything from folding chairs to beach balls and towels could be used for promotional sports and outdoors items, especially when advertising a product or service that would be utilized during those hot summer days. However, even automobile dealerships might give coolers or GPS items when selling a new 4-wheel drive or SUV. There is literally no end to promotional items that can be utilized outdoors and that means that a multitude of people will see your advertising because no beach or sporting event is ever vacant. For guys who like to go hunting or fishing, promotional items pocket knives are a big hit. People who go hiking, climbing or camping would also find them useful, and so will their friends!

The idea behind using promotional products is to advertise not only to that customer or client, but to anyone who sees them wear or use the item you provided. Sometimes it’s like a snowball effect. Give a guy a pocket knife and the next time a friend asks “Do you have a knife on you?” that friend will see your pocket knife with your company name and/or logo and contact info on it. Chances are a conversation will crop up and before you know it, that customer has just provided you with a new lead, or potential client. That’s the purpose of promotional items in a nutshell. While it is always good to provide the customer with something that they can use, and be reminded of you every time they use it, it is even better if you have gifted them with a promotional product that can also be seen or used by others. A one time gift just keeps on giving.
